Volunteer West Virginia is seeking dedicated individuals to serve as Commissioners. If you are interested in volunteerism and AmeriCorps, this is the perfect opportunity for you!
Volunteer West Virginia oversees AmeriCorps State funding for West Virginia, administers and hosts the Governor's Service Awards, and supports volunteer infrastructure. Commissioners are appointed by the Governor, serve three-year terms, and support our work across the state.
Commissioners attend four meetings a year, two of which are in-person, and serve on committees. New Commission Member nominees are selected by the Governance Committee to meet federal requirements for the composition of the Commission. All Commission appointments are subject to the approval of the Governor.
