Start an AmeriCorps Program

Each year, Volunteer West Virginia provides funding for organizations​​ to develop AmeriCorps programs in West Virginia. These programs utilize 5+ AmeriCorps Members who can focus on education, economic opportunity, environmental stewardship, disaster services, healthy futures, and veterans & military families.​​ Nonprofits, Institutes of Higher Education, Tribes, and Government Agencies are eligible to apply. If you are interested in starting an AmeriCorps Program, please contact our AmeriCorps team at, americorps@wv.gov,​ to schedule a call to discuss your ideas, program​ design, and member service activities.​

If your organization is interested in hosting one AmeriCorps member, we can help you find a preexisting​ program to partner with. Please contact Dana Bryant, dana.a.bryant@wv.gov​ to schedule a call.

Teams of AmeriCorps members are also available for short term projects. AmeriCorps NCCC volunteers serve for 3-6 weeks. Teams can clear trails, build homes, spruce up museums, serve youth - and more! No match or cost share required. To learn how to sponsor a team, contact Stephanie Chan.
