AmeriCorps VISTA summer positions are currently available throughout the West Virginia. However, due to COVID-19 organizations are having a challenging time finding volunteers to fill these important positions.
Volunteers are needed to serve children in summer programming. In exchange for a summer of service, Summer Associates will receive a living allowance and Education Award / Cash Bonus.
The project is sponsored by
West Virginia's Promise - The Alliance for Youth.
About the Available Positions
- Positions include a living-allowance and an Education Award -or- Cash Bonus. Click here to learn more.
- Projects last 8-10 weeks. Summer Associate members serve a minimum of 35 hours per week.
- Must be at least 18 years of age at the time of placement.
- Most positions begin Mid-May / Early June.
- AmeriCorps VISTA Summer Associates serve at nonprofits, schools, and local government agencies.
- VISTAS serve children as mentors, camp coordinators, lead summer programming, and assist summer feeding programs.
