Tell your friends! The Education Alliance currently has several open positions for AmeriCorps mentors, college ambassadors and AmeriCorps VISTAs throughout the state. AmeriCorps members will receive a living allowance, Segal AmeriCorps Education Award, and valuable career experience. 

AmeriCorps Mentor
Help improve high school graduation rates–become a mentor! AmeriCorps Mentors will help students improve attendance, behavior and course performance. Duties include mentoring, homework help and volunteer recruitment. Qualifications: Experience working with school-age children, families, and education professionals preferred. Benefits: Living allowance and education award. Positions available in Berkeley, Cabell, Lincoln, Pleasants and Wayne Counties. AmeriCorps College Ambassador
Help spread the word that West Virginia offers free community college - become a College Ambassador! College Ambassadors provide support and information about college preparation. Duties include helping students apply for college, complete the FASFA, and facilitate pre-college enrollment activities such as campus tours. Qualifications: Experience working with college eligible age individuals, families, and education professionals preferred. Benefits: Living allowance and education award. Positions available at Blue Ridge, BridgeValley and West Virginia Northern Community & Technical Colleges. AmeriCorps VISTA
Do you enjoy science, technology, engineering, arts and math (STEAM) and want to make a difference in West Virginia? Wetzel County Schools is seeking a motivated candidate to engage students in STEM education. The STEM Innovation VISTA will work with district leadership to provide an innovation showcase and develop a STEAM Waggon that promotes jobs in the oil and gas industry. This position offers a living allowance, health coverage, child care assistance (if eligible), relocation allowance, and education award to pay for college or repay Federal students loans.
