Potential applicants will apply via a competitive process to operate an AmeriCorps program utilizing at least 5 AmeriCorps members. Volunteer West Virginia operates two competitions for AmeriCorps Program Funding.
1. The National Competition. Due dates and Q&A for applicants participating in the national competition are included in the Notice of Funding Opportunity Attached. Eligible applicants are restricted to current West Virginia AmeriCorps programs receiving operational funding via either the National Competition or the West Virginia Formulary Award Process.
2. The Formula Competition. Due dates and Q&A along with any additional criteria for application will be released in January 2019. All training listed below and provided under this announcement is also applicable to the Formula Competition. Training is open and any agency interested in applying for AmeriCorps funding over the next year may attend.
Who We Are
Volunteer West Virginia, the state’s Commission for National and Community Service, challenges West Virginians to strengthen their communities through service and volunteerism. The Commission administers West Virginia’s AmeriCorps service programs in cooperation with local and state grantees. We also administer additional programming to help meet the state’s volunteer and community service needs. Our programs focus on Volunteer Mobilization and Management, Educational Support, Community Building, Healthy Futures, Veterans and Military Families, Building Strong Nonprofits and Disaster Services.
