Farewell Heather Foster

2/21/2020

Farewell Heather Foster!

Friends and colleagues,

A new chapter in service is unfolding for me.

I’ve accepted an opportunity with the federal Corporation for National and Community Service. In March, I’ll transition to a new role as Chief Impact Officer at the Midwest Regional CNCS Office in Columbus, Ohio. In that role, I’ll oversee a staff with responsibility for Senior Corps, AmeriCorps and VISTA programming in Michigan, Ohio, Indiana, Illinois and Kentucky.

Our engaged and competent board of Commissioners will conduct a search to fill my position this spring. If you know someone who would be a perfect fit – please let them know! Once the position is approved it will be posted on our website. Please continue to spread the word and check www.volunteerwv.org, periodically for updates.

I’m spending a lot of time reflecting on the last 18 years in Charleston. I’ve learned so much from my community here. I’ve learned to appreciate grit, to go outside (no matter what), that new friends are a rare and special blessing, and most of all, I’ve grown-up in service with you. I can’t thank you enough for the joy that this community brings me.

It has been the greatest honor of my life to serve as the Executive Director of Volunteer West Virginia. This role was made for me and is one I will continue to love. Thank you for the opportunity to serve.

Until next time,
 Heather Foster

P.S. After Friday, you won’t be able to reach me at this email anymore. Feel free to reach out using my home email: hf2340@gmail.com
