2020 AmeriCorps Swearing-In Virtual Conference
We can't believe it's here! Tomorrow, we kick off our 2020 AmeriCorps Swearing-In Virtual Conference! By now, we hope you have received your COVID Care Package from those of us at Volunteer West Virginia, our State Commission for National and Community Service! Each of you are exceptionally special for choosing to serve your community through this pandemic – we cannot thank you enough!
As you get ready for tomorrow, here are a few tips:
- Plan to be in a calm, quiet area where you can focus on the session content,
- Have fun and show off your AmeriCorps gear! Our presenters and your peers love to see you rocking your AmeriCorps "A" 😊
Make sure that you have downloaded the appropriate Zoom program for your device. Test out our conference Zoom link to make sure it works for you (you should see a message stating "Waiting for the host to start this meeting"): https://us02web.zoom.us/j/9483755767
- If you are using your phone for audio, that information will be listed at the bottom of this message and in the emails you receive on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday mornings.
About the Swearing-In Conference
Just a reminder: there will be 9 virtual conference sessions.

The virtual conference will run from Tuesday Oct. 27 through Thursday Oct. 29, with daily sessions at 9am, 12noon, and 3pm. Remember, you need to attend three sessions (including the Keynote session at 3pm on Thursday) – but feel free to attend as many as you would like! We welcome you to any and all of our workshops, whether you pre-registered on the Swearing-In Registration SurveyMonkey or not.
All of the workshops will be held on Zoom video conferencing platform. Zoom is a very flexible service that is available on all platforms, including mobile devices and tablets. Here are some video tutorials that cover the basics. If you have never used Zoom before, please download the desktop or mobile application through your app store to your device prior to Tuesday.
