My AmeriCorps Direct Term of Service with a local Habitat for Humanity affiliate over ten years ago was my introduction to West Virginia and the nonprofit world!
I have since called our beloved Mountain State home and have served for nearly four years as Operations Manager and am the founding employee of
Community Markets Inc.
(CMI) which feeds underserved families in West Virginia with healthy food grown by local farmers.
In addition, I have had the pleasure of serving as Site Supervisor for six wonderful AmeriCorps VISTA Members at Community Markets Inc. in the past two years, all of whom had no prior nonprofit experience. One of the VISTA Members is now CMI's second FT employee! I am a proud AmeriCorps Alumni since my Term of Service introduced me to a future of service and the Program now gives me the opportunity to help foster a culture of service for the next generation at CMI.
