Volunteer and National Service Response
During large scale disasters such has the 2016 Flood and COVID-19 Pandemic, we help to mobilize national service members, such as AmeriCorps, VISTA and NCCC teams, to help respond. We also partner with
West Virginia Voluntary Organizations Active In Disaster to share and promote volunteer opportunities on our website for community volunteers.
Community Emergency Response Team
The Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) program educates local volunteers about disaster preparedness for the hazards that may impact their area and trains them in basic disaster response skills, such as fire safety, light search and rescue, team organization, and disaster medical operations. Trained CERT members can help themselves, their families, and those nearby during an incident, and can assist and support first responders. You can be ready, CERT can help get you there.
Join a CERT program near you, or for more information contact Gina Namay,
